About Maevon
Maevon is a collection of hand-shaped ceramics rooted in natural texture and form. Each piece begins with raw clay, shaped slowly and intentionally. After bisque firing it is glazed by hand in natural, layered tones before being fired again in small batches. There are no molds, no mass production. Every curve, line, and surface is formed and finished entirely by hand.
The process is slow by design. Time is built into every step, from shaping to drying, from glazing to firing. This rhythm allows each object to grow into itself gradually, with space for small irregularities that make it unique. Maevon pieces are never identical, but they belong to the same language: earthy, simplistic, and deeply tactile.
Inspired by the natural world, the work reflects a love for imperfection and asymmetry. These forms are made to bring a sense of nature into your space.

The Maker
Maevon is the work of Laura van Donselaar, a ceramicist working from Amsterdam.
With a background in conceptual styling, she was drawn to clay for its responsiveness, its resilience, and its capacity to record the gestures of the hand. What began as quiet experiments grew into a practice centered on slow creation, repetition, curiosity, and a deep connection to natural materials.
Her process is intuitive and hands-on, often starting without a fixed plan. She builds forms gradually, refining them through touch rather than measurement. Glazes are applied in multiple layers and tones, allowing for fluid, shifting surfaces that interact with each curve in subtle ways.
Her work is shaped by a deep sensitivity to material and environment. Clay offers a way to connect to the present. Each piece is a response rather than a statement, shaped more by listening than by control. Through this process, she finds a way of working that is both grounding and open-ended.
