the hands behind each piece

/ Maevon is the ceramic practice of Laura van Donselaar, based in The Netherlands.

Nothing is planned from the beginning. Each piece starts with a lump of clay, a sense of curiosity, and above all, surrender to trial and error. Rather than shaping the material into something I have already imagined, I find the form through the making itself. Some pieces reveal themselves quickly, others ask for patience. Every form, texture, and result is discovered rather than designed.

Nature is never still, never perfectly uniform, yet always in balance. This philosophy lies at the heart of Maevon. I am endlessly inspired by organic shapes, earthy colors, tactile textures, and the natural process of transformation, which is so perfectly reflected in the process of ceramics. The result is one of a kind pieces that feel organic, timeless, and uniquely their own.

Each finished piece holds traces of the hands that made it and the process from which it unfolded. I do not believe in perfection. Embracing imperfection is part of the creative and handmade process.
